For every breeder, the "perfect" Border Collie may look different. And that's completely okay! Below, I'll describe what personally makes this breed special to me and what kind of Border Collie I aim to breed. If this aligns with your own vision, that's great, and I would be thrilled to place my furry friends in your loving home.

To me, the Border Collie is an incredibly intelligent and versatile dog. I appreciate their ability to learn quickly and complete tasks with enthusiasm and devotion. As a breeder, my goal is to produce Border Collies who are not only physically healthy and athletic, but also possess a strong and stable temperament.

As for their physical appearance, a sporty build is very important to me, as the Border was originally bred as a working dog and is still used in many sports today. Therefore, I place great emphasis on ensuring my four-legged friends have a harmonious and athletic appearance. Coat colors are secondary to me, as I primarily focus on health, temperament, and athletic ability. However, I must admit that I particularly love the colorful coats of the Border Collie and appreciate the breed's versatility.

Health
Breeding healthy puppies is of utmost priority to me! Especially since there are now so many options available through genetic testing and other health examinations to avoid serious illnesses and their consequences in our dogs. And in the end, we all wish for our furry friends to have a carefree, happy, and healthy life. Of course, not every disease can be prevented through examinations, but all of my dogs that go into breeding will be X-rayed beforehand (HD, ED, OCD), examined by a specialist for hereditary eye diseases, and undergo a comprehensive DNA test (CEA, MDR1, TNS, etc.). I also have the same requirements for all stud dogs, so that the puppies can already receive the best possible health conditions before birth.
Warum uberhaupt noch zuchten?
Diese Frage stellen sich viele Menschen, die sich mit dem Thema Tierschutz auseinandersetzen. Schließlich gibt es schon so viele Hunde, die ohne Zuhause sind oder im Tierheim darauf warten, adoptiert zu werden. Warum also noch Rassehunde züchten?

Auch wenn es viele Hunde im Tierheim gibt, die auf ein Zuhause warten, gibt es dennoch Menschen, die sich für eine bestimmte Rasse entscheiden und diese auch gezielt suchen. Durch verantwortungsvolle Züchter kann sichergestellt werden, dass die Nachkommen gesund und frei von genetischen Krankheiten sind und die typischen Merkmale der Rasse aufweisen. Die Zucht trägt dazu bei die Rasse zu erhalten und zu verbessern, damit auch zukünftige Generationen von ihren positiven Eigenschaften profitieren können.

Wenn man allerdings keine bestimmte Rasse sucht, oder der Rassehund schon etwas älter sein darf, dann sollte man unbedingt darüber nachdenken, einen Hund aus dem Tierheim oder von einer Rettungsorganisation zu adoptieren. Diese Hunde haben oft eine schwierige Vergangenheit und verdienen es, eine zweite Chance zu bekommen. Die Adoption eines Tierheimhundes ist nicht nur eine wunderbare Möglichkeit, einem Tier in Not zu helfen, sondern auch eine Chance, einen treuen und liebevollen Begleiter zu finden. Egal ob man sich für eine Adoption oder den Kauf von einem Züchter entscheidet, sollte man sich immer bewusst sein, dass man sich langfristig um das Wohlbefinden und die Bedürfnisse des Hundes kümmern muss.
